August 21st: On the way over to Shelikof cabin, we were waylaid in getting to the beach by a bounty of mushrooms. Golden chantrelles, hedgehogs, and chicken-of-the-woods were in abundance, and to delectable to pass up. We ate really well on that camping trip, in part due to the pounds of fresh mushrooms that we collected from little meadows and under fallen logs.
